3.5 Cold storage conditions
(a) Store the electrically power assisted bicycle for not less than 20 h in
standard ambient conditions with the electrically power assisted bicycle
switched off.
(b) Carry out the functional check specifie d in Section 4.
(c) Remove the batteries from the electrically power assisted bicycle.
(d) Subject the electrically power assisted bicycle to a temperature of (-40 ± 5)
°C for not less than 5 h.
(e) Store the wheelchair for 1 h ± 5 min in standard ambient conditions.
(f) Replace the batteries removed in c).
(g)Conduct the functional check specified in Sections 4 commencing within 5
min of completion of e).
3.6 Hot storage conditions
(a) Store the electrically power assisted bicycle for not less than 20 h in
standard ambient conditions with the electrically power assisted bicycle
switched off.
(b) Carry out the functional check specifie d in Sections 4.
(c) Switch off the electrically power assisted bicycle.
(d) Subject the electrically power assisted bicycle to a temperature of (65 ± 5)
°C for not less than 5 h.
(e) Inspect the electrically power assisted bicycle for evidence that any driven
part has moved.
(f) Store the electrically power assisted bicycle for 1 h ± 5 min in standard
ambient conditions.
