Fork mounting fixture
The fork shall be mounted in a fixture representative of the head-tube and gripped in
the normal head-bearings. The distance between the bearings can have an influence
on the results. Therefore, when known the real mounting distance shall be used with
a tolerance of ± 5 mm. If no indication about the distance is given, a value of (150 ± 5)
mm shall be taken. The measurement points are taken from the middle of the
bearings. Examples of distance measurements are given in Figure G.1.
During loading, the fork steerer will bend and may touch the dummy head-tube. The
design of the dummy tube shall be such that this contact can’t occur.
